Description
Biatain Alginate Ag Rope is a narrow-form calcium alginate dressing with ionic silver, developed for packing deep wound cavities, sinus tracts, and undermined wound edges where flat dressings cannot adequately fill dead space. At 1 in × 17½ in (approximately 44 cm), the rope can be cut to the required length or loosely folded to fill the cavity without packing too tightly, ensuring drainage is not impeded. Contact with wound exudate triggers the fibres to gel, conforming to the cavity walls and enabling relatively painless removal in a cohesive strand. Silver ions released throughout wear time address bacterial colonisation within the wound bed. Requires a secondary cover dressing. Each box contains 10 ropes.
