Description
Kaltostat Alginate Wound Dressing Rope by ConvaTec is a sterile, calcium-sodium alginate fibre dressing formulated for moderately to heavily exudating wounds, particularly tunnelling wounds, sinus tracts, and deep cavities where a flat sheet dressing cannot reach. On contact with wound fluid, the alginate fibres absorb exudate and transform into a soft, conforming gel that maintains a moist wound environment conducive to healing. The gel formation also supports haemostatic activity for wounds with minor bleeding. Each rope can remain in place for up to seven days, and the gel-fibre matrix allows for atraumatic removal that minimises disruption to fragile granulation tissue.
