Description
The Hollister Flextend Skin Barrier, Non-Sterile is the skin barrier (wafer/flange) that forms the seal between the stoma and the ostomy pouch. The barrier protects peristomal skin from output, anchors the pouch to the abdomen, and is the most important component of any two-piece ostomy system.
Pairing with pouches
For two-piece systems, match the flange size on this barrier with the flange size on the pouches you wear. The two click together via a coupling ring. Most ostomates change the barrier every 3–5 days and swap pouches more frequently as needed.
