Description
The Hollister Cone Irrigator Kit is part of a colostomy irrigation system — a technique used by some individuals with descending or sigmoid colostomies to regulate output and gain hours of predictable, output-free time between irrigations. Irrigation is not appropriate for all ostomies; the technique should be initiated under guidance of an enterostomal therapy nurse.
The cone tip is designed to seat against the stoma without entering the bowel deeply, reducing risk of perforation while allowing the irrigation water to fill the colon and stimulate emptying.
