Description
The Covidien Shiley XLT Cuffless Distal Tracheostomy Tube addresses the needs of patients who require extended-length airway access but do not need or cannot tolerate a cuffed design. The XLT distal configuration adds length at the distal end of the tube, making it well-suited for individuals with obesity, short or thick necks, or other anatomical variations that make standard-length tubes insufficient. Without a cuff, this tube reduces mucosal pressure and is appropriate where aspiration protection is managed through other clinical means.
