Description
The Bardex Infection Control 3-Way Foley Catheter is an indwelling urinary catheter for long-term drainage. Foley catheters are placed by a healthcare professional and held in place by an inflated balloon at the bladder neck. They drain continuously into a leg or night bag through a connected tubing system.
Three-way design adds a continuous irrigation channel — used in post-surgical management where bladder needs to be flushed (e.g. after TURP or for clot prevention).
Important clinical notes
- French size (FR) refers to outer catheter diameter — your healthcare provider determines appropriate size based on anatomy.
- Balloon volume (in cc/mL) must match the inflation amount specified on the package — over-inflation can rupture the balloon and create complications.
- Foley catheter placement requires sterile technique — kits include the necessary insertion supplies; consult your provider if you’re new to self-catheterization.
