The Drive Medical Anti Tippers with Casters (STDS814) mount to the rear undercarriage of most standard wheelchairs and serve as a passive safety barrier against backward tipping. When the rear of the chair lifts — on a ramp or when leaning back — the casters contact the ground and limit further rotation, protecting the user from a fall. The caster wheels, rather than fixed prongs, allow the chair to continue rolling smoothly even when engaged, which is particularly useful during assisted ramp navigation. Sold as a pair.
