Description
Algisite M by Smith & Nephew is a soft, highly absorbent calcium alginate dressing derived from natural seaweed fibres. When it contacts wound exudate, the fibres transform into a moist, conformable gel that helps maintain the optimal healing environment and can assist with haemostasis in minor bleeding wounds. The 5 cm x 5 cm format is ideal for smaller ulcers, donor sites, and post-surgical wounds with moderate to heavy exudate output. It is easily removed — either lifted off intact or irrigated away — minimising patient discomfort at dressing changes.
