Description
The Hollister Premier Flextend One-Piece Urostomy Pouch Convex Flextend, Cut-to-Fit Beige is a urostomy pouch designed for individuals with a urinary diversion (ileal conduit, neobladder with stoma, or cutaneous ureterostomy). Unlike colostomy or ileostomy pouches, urostomy pouches incorporate a drainage tap or anti-reflux valve at the bottom for controlled urine output and overnight drainage-bag connection.
An anti-reflux feature prevents urine from sloshing back toward the stoma when the pouch fills, reducing irritation and UTI risk. The drainage tap is compatible with standard night drainage bags via a tubing adapter (sold separately).
The Flextend barrier material is more elastic than standard hydrocolloid — useful for active wearers, individuals whose body shape changes through the day, or anyone with skin folds near the stoma.
The convex shape gently presses around the stoma to encourage protrusion into the pouch, improving seal for stomas that sit flush or retracted.
Cut-to-fit barrier — trim the opening at home to match your current stoma dimensions.
Typical wear and care
- Empty the pouch when one-third to one-half full to prevent the weight pulling on the skin barrier.
- Connect to a night drainage bag before bed to avoid overflow and improve sleep.
- Most urostomates change the appliance every 3–4 days; individual wear time varies with skin chemistry, output volume, and activity level.
