The straight pull spokes on the inside of the hub increase side load integrity when cambering the wheel and the J-bend spokes on the outside of the hub are cross laced which helps increase wheel rotation integrity. It all adds up to a competent wheel assembly suitable for many types of activities. The spokes themselves are 12 gauge in size which adds strength and reduces the number of spokes required. Solid polyurethane tire offer 2-3 durability over air pneumatic rubber tires. While the tire is solid, it still rides like a pneumatic tire but with the fredom of flats. Also polyurethane tires are less prone to mark the floors, especially the grey color which is a non-marking tire. Compatibility This wheel assembly fits a variety of wheelchairs from Invacare (Top End), TiLite, Quickie, Ki-Mobility, Colours and many other brand of wheelchairs using 540 mm wheels with 1/2" inner diameter bearings. The width of the hub (measured from outside bearing to outside bearing) is 1.875".
