The Sure Grip Digital Bowel Stimulator is a bowel management aid for people who cannot perform digital stimulation unassisted — typically following spinal cord injury, or with multiple sclerosis, arthritis, stroke or another condition that limits reach, grip or finger dexterity. The probe is mounted on a moulded 4-inch plastic cuff that loops over either hand, so the tool is driven by whole-arm movement rather than by the fingers.

Adjustable angle, depth and reach

A Delrin plastic probe and polyethylene washer both adjust, letting the user set the angle and the depth of insertion to suit their own anatomy. The head rotates a full 360º and the distance between the probe and the hand can be changed, so the stimulator can be set up for either hand and for a seated or side-lying routine. Once a user finds a working position, the settings stay put between uses.

Hygiene and materials

Delrin is non-porous, so the probe wipes down and can be sanitized repeatedly for reuse rather than being discarded after each routine. The stimulator is latex-free, making it safe for users with a latex allergy.

Companion product

The Sure Grip line also includes a Sure Grip Suppository Inserter, which uses the same hand cuff but carries a suppository rather than a stimulation probe. Many users keep both as part of one routine.
