ConvaTec’s Kaltostat Calcium Alginate Wound Dressing in the large 10 cm x 19 cm format is suited to highly exuding, wide-surface wounds such as chronic leg ulcers, deep pressure injuries, and donor sites. Like all Kaltostat dressings, it leverages a blend of calcium and sodium alginate fibres that swell and gel upon contact with wound exudate, locking moisture at the wound surface while the secondary dressing draws excess fluid away. The result is a controlled healing environment that minimises maceration of surrounding skin and discomfort during dressing changes.
