Curity AMD Antimicrobial Gauze Sponges by Covidien / Medtronic incorporate PHMB (polyhexamethylene biguanide), a broad-spectrum antimicrobial agent, directly into the gauze fibres. At 2" x 2" and 8 ply, each individually sterile sponge is sized for smaller wound sites requiring additional infection-risk management. The non-adhesive design allows removal without disturbing the wound bed, making these sponges appropriate for sensitive healing tissue.
