Description
The Biatain Alginate Ag dressing in the 4 × 4 in (10 × 10 cm) size is a calcium alginate product reinforced with ionic silver for wounds that combine significant exudate output with infection risk. The alginate matrix wicks fluid away from the wound surface rapidly, reducing maceration of the surrounding skin, while the continuous release of silver ions addresses bacterial burden throughout wear time. As the fibres absorb exudate they transform into a cohesive gel that stays within the wound bed, facilitating cleaner dressing changes and reducing patient discomfort. A secondary cover dressing is needed. Each box contains 10 dressings.
